Course Objective
To equip participants with skills to ensure workplace safety and compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007.
At the end of this course, trainees should be able to:
- Explain that occupational health and safety is more than accident prevention – that it encompasses all aspects of working conditions
- Explain the role of health representatives in occupational health
- Recognize a number of occupational hazards and some of the types of work generally associated with those hazards
- Explain ways in which hazardous waste can enter the body and how to prevent them from entering the body
- Understand fire safety and how to conduct a fire drill
